Why is it necessary to maintain generators regularly?

Regular and periodic generator maintenance helps the generator operate stably, increases the engine's lifespan, and avoids sudden damage that affects production and service operations whenever the generator is needed.

A generator is always guaranteed to be in the best condition, as when it was first purchased, and it also helps save fuel, operating costs, and increase its lifespan. It helps save production, business, and service costs, and increase productivity in the production of goods and services.

In addition, when the generator engine is not in use for a long time, maintenance is necessary to ensure that the generator is always ready for the safest and smoothest operation.

When there is a power outage or a sudden incident occurs, the generator is our timely "savior", helping to solve the problem quickly and conveniently. To ensure that the machine can operate smoothly immediately when needed, you must regularly monitor and maintain the generator. The main reasons are:

The generator is an important backup power source when the grid fails, so it must always be ready to operate at its best efficiency. Thus, even if not used, it is still necessary to periodically check the generator for internal corner damage every 3-6 months and repair it promptly to maintain the durability of the engine.

Regular generator maintenance can help the machine operate stably, increase the engine's life, and avoid minor damage that can lead to more serious failures, affecting operation.

Notes on generator maintenance

When maintaining the generator, it is necessary to follow the inspection procedures and other important notes, as recommended by the manufacturer, with many years of experience in the profession.

Periodically check the generator system
Check the fuel system, exhaust system, electrical system and engine, check closely to ensure that there are no fuel leaks that endanger the operation of the generator. After 100 hours of operation, the oil should be changed to ensure the life of the engine and minimize damage.

The generator's oil filter and engine oil need to be checked regularly. Check the remaining oil level, the quality of the machine's oil is guaranteed, to add and replace when necessary.

Check the fuel system
Diesel oil will usually be contaminated and corroded after about 1 year, so use up all the fuel before it is damaged. The fuel filter needs to be dried after a certain period of time, to avoid the accumulation of moisture in the fuel tank. Periodically check, change oil and polish fuel when the machine is not in use every 3-6 months.

Regularly check if the coolant is still there or not every time the machine is turned off. If it is not, add it immediately. Remove the radiator cap after the engine has cooled down. Check the radiator and clean the dirt on the outside.

Plan regular maintenance and servicing according to the correct procedure
Make a specific plan in terms of time every 3-6 months, depending on the level of use of the generator. To check all systems as mentioned above, fix any damage or phenomena that have a negative impact on the generator.

In addition, check all exhaust pipes, welds, and gaskets. Fix any leaks immediately. Do not leave the generator idle for too long. Every 3 months of inactivity, start and maintain the generator for at least 30 minutes to help stabilize the engine and prevent oxidation.
